Building fire - Alconbury Hill - Huntingdonshire

At 8.24am on Wednesday (31) crews were called to a fire on Alconbury Hill in Alconbury.

More than 30 firefighters, including crews from St Neots, Chatteris, Whittlesey, the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, Dogsthorpe, Gamlingay and the north roaming fire engine, along with a crew from Kettering in Northamptonshire, are at the scene.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving waste at a recycling centre. Crews worked hard to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.

They made regular inspections to check on the progress of the fire burning out.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
