Building fire – Abbey ward - Cambridge

At 10.09pm on Sunday (5) crews from Cambridge were called to a fire on Newmarket Road in Abbey ward, Cambridge.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire at the rear of a building involving a cardboard storage area. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The crews returned to their station by 12.20am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
