Chimney fire – Brampton - Huntingdonshire

At 10.31pm on Wednesday (19) a crew from Huntingdon was called to a fire on Bernard Road in Brampton.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house and extinguished it. They returned to their station by 11.50pm.

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.”

“As the cold weather begins to arrive, it is important to get your chimney swept before lighting it for the first time.”
