Tractor fire - Tydd St Giles - Fenland

At 1.33pm on Thursday 10 August crews from Wisbech, Chatteris, March and Burwell were called to a tractor fire on Grangehill Road in Tydd St Giles alongside crews from Long Sutton, Holbeach and Spalding (Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service).

More than 25 firefighters arrived to find a tractor unit and baler well alight which had spread across 25 hectares of stubble and bales. Using small gear, hose reels and our new 4x4 misting unit. Crews extinguished the fire before returning to their stations by 9pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
