Fire in the open – Burwell - East Cambs

At 5.59pm on Thursday (3) crews were called to a fire on Ness Road in Burwell. 

Crews from Burwell, including the misting unit, and Cambridge, along with crews from Newmarket and Mildenhall in Suffolk, attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a combine harvester spreading to around 45 acres of field and a tractor. They extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading further.  

The crews returned to their stations by 9.30pm 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
