Roof fire - Wisbech St Mary - Fenland

At 11.44am on Tuesday (4) crews were called to a roof fire on Station Drive in Wisbech St Mary.

Over 30 firefighters attended including crews from Wisbech, Stanground, March, Thorney, Chatteris and the north roaming fire engine along with a turntable ladder and the command unit.

Crews arrived to find a roof fire affecting two properties. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Crews returned to their stations by 3pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
