Wisbech crew deliver Christmas presents following appeal
30/12/2024
Big shout out to the crew at Wisbech Community Fire & Rescue Station for spreading festive cheer in the lead up to Christmas.
The crew visited more than 150 families with young people in need, or going through a tough time, to deliver Christmas presents. They visited people in the town, as well as Leverington, Parson Drove, Tydd St Giles, Friday Bridge as well as over the border in Outwell and Upwell.
The presents were generously donated by members of the public and staff, as well as pupils from Thomas Clarkson Academy, The Wisbech Academy and Elm Church of England Primary School. Local businesses, including Morrisons, B&M and Poundland also gave a large selection of toys and games.
Firefighter Samual Pumpr from the station said: “We’ve been bowled over by the generosity from everyone that has supported our appeal. It’s so humbling to have the support of so many people in the community. We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to visit and help so many families to give them some Christmas cheer.”
