About Our Service

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority has a legal duty to encourage fire safety in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and to enforce the provisions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO), in order to reduce the risk of fire causing death or serious injury to persons and to protect property.

Our role is to provide practical fire safety advice and guidance to help you meet legal obligations.

We also conduct fire safety audits to ascertain how the premises are being managed and if the FSO is being complied with. Audits are conducted as part of a risk based audit program or owing to other circumstances, and are always carried out by competent fire service staff.

The FSO requires the responsible person(s) of any non-domestic premises to ensure they are compliant with the law in order to protect all relevant persons from the risks of fire.

If you have an immediate public safety concern (e.g. blocked/locked fire exit) and would like to report it, please contact our switchboard at any time of the day on 01480 444500.

In an emergency always dial 999.
