House fire – Burwell - East Cambs

At 11.26pm on Saturday (21) crews from Burwell, Soham and Cambridge, including the turntable ladder, along with crews from Newmarket in Suffolk, were called to a fire on North Street in Burwell. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the living room of a house involving a log burner. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels.  

The property was evacuated when the crews arrived. A male casualty required treatment for smoke inhalation. 

The crews returned to their stations by 2.45am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
