Building fire - Eaton Socon - Huntingdonshire

UPDATE 5PM:

The incident has scaled down, and only one crew remains in attendance.

The fire investigation continues. If anyone has any information regarding the incident, please to report it either online or via 101, quoting incident 70 of 24 Feb.

Crews will be reinspecting the area for hotspots over the coming days.

Members of the public no longer need to avoid the area or keep windows and doors closed.

On Friday (24) at 5.40am, crews were called to a building fire on Howard Road, Eaton Socon.

Crews from St Neots, Cambourne, Huntingdon, Kimbolton, Chatteris, Sawston, Cambridge, along with multiple crews from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance. Specialist appliances including the incident support unit, incident command unit and two aerial appliances are also at the scene.

Crews arrived to find a fire at a building on the industrial estate.

If you live or work in the surrounding area, we’d advise you to stay indoors, and keep windows and doors closed, due to the smoke coming from the site.

Crews are likely to be in attendance for a few more hours.

We’d ask that people avoid the area.
