Large vehicle fire - Dogsthorpe - Peterborough

On Wednesday (1) at 7.46am, a crew from Dogsthorpe and a crew from Stanground were called to a large vehicle fire on Redmile Walk, Dogsthorpe. Crews arrived to find a large amount of household waste alight in a refuse truck.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental, due to batteries discarded in the household rubbish.

Crews returned to their stations by 8.40am.
