House fire - Burwell - East Cambs

On Friday (7) at 11.54am, crews from Burwell, Ely and Newmarket (Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service) were called to a house fire on Hatley Drive, Burwell.

Crews arrived to find a ground floor bedroom heavily smoke logged.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was accidental. It was caused by sunlight through a window hitting a mirror then diverting onto soft furnishings.
