Fire in the open – Soham - East Cambs

At 4.09pm on Tuesday (30) a crew from Soham, along with a crew from Newmarket in Suffolk, was called to a fire on Angle Common in Soham. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving more than 100 tonnes of straw. Working with a farmer they extinguished the fire using hose reels and maintained a presence throughout the night and the following day to make sure the area was safe.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
