Building fire - Market Ward - Cambridge

At 12.41pm on Wednesday 9 August crews from Cambridge were called to reports of a fire at a retail premises on Market Hill in Cambridge. 

Firefighters arrived to find a involving the front of an empty retail premises. Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. 

Neighbouring shops were evacuated as a precaution, but there were no injuries reported. 

The crews returned to their station by 2.15pm

The cause of the fire was accidental.
