Building fire – Hampton Hargate - Peterborough

At 12.04am on Wednesday (8) crews from Yaxley, Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to a fire on Silver Hill in Hampton Hargate, Peterborough. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving bins that had spread to a house, which was also impacting a gas main. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and worked with gas engineers to make the area safe.  

Several properties were evacuated while the incident was dealt with.  

The crews returned to their stations by 4.15am. 

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information is urged to report to police online via the online reporting forms, web chat service or by calling 101 and quote incident 7 of 8 November.
