Fire in the open - Stonea - Fenland

At 12.58pm on Monday (20) a crew from Chatteris along with the north roaming fire engine and a water carrier were called to a fire in the open on Sixteen Foot Bank in Stonea. 

Firefighters arrived to find approximately 200 metres of grass verge well alight. Working with farmers they extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 3.35pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
