Building fire - Wittering - Peterborough

On Tuesday (17) at 11.15am, a crew from Dogsthorpe, Stanground and Stamford (Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service) were called to a building fire in Wittering.

Crews arrived to find a fire in the roof space of a retail premises. Firefighters worked hard to contain the fire and prevent further spread. They used a ladder and jets to extinguish the fire, and dampen down any hotspots.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

The crew returned to their station by 2.45pm. The area was reinspected later in the afternoon.
