Ely fire station is in the East Cambridgeshire district. It operates two fire engines. The first is crewed by wholetime firefighters Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm. Between 6pm and 8am and at weekends the fire engine is crewed by on-call firefighters. The second fire engine is permanently crewed by on-call firefighters.

The on-call firefighters at Ely fire station train for two hours on a Monday between 7pm and 9pm.
