Chimney fire – Great Abington - South Cambs

At 7.55pm on Friday (3) crews from Linton and Cambridge were called to a fire at Abington Park Farm in Great Abington. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house and extinguished it. They returned to their stations by 10pm. 

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.”
