Deliberate fires – Orton Longueville and Orton Malborne - Peterborough

At 9.58pm on Sunday (12) a crew from Stanground was called to a fire on The Village in Orton Longueville. 

Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and left the scene at 10.55pm. 

At 10.58 the crew was then called to a fire on Saltmarsh in Orton Malborne.  

They arrived to find a car well alight. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and left the scene at 11.50pm. 

At 11.56pm the crew was then called, along with crews from Dogsthorpe and the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, to a fire on Cheyney Court in Orton Malborne.  

They arrived to find a well-developed fire involving around five cars, with the fire spreading to a building. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and left the scene at 1.10am. 

At 12.32am crews from Yaxley and the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to a fire involving a signal box on the Nene Valley Railway, near Orton Mere.  

They extinguished the fire using a hose reel and left the scene by 1.30am.
