House fire – Chesterton - Cambridge

At 11.46pm on Saturday (17) crews from Cambridge, Cottenham and Cambourne, along with a water carrier from Newmarket in Suffolk, were called to a fire on Fen Road in Chesterton, Cambridge. 

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire hose reels and a jet and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

The crews returned to their stations by 2.50am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
