Fire in the open - Eye Green - Peterborough

At 3.23pm on Wednesday 30 August a crew from Stanground was called to a fire in the open on Crowland Road in Eye Green.

Firefighters arrived to find a bonfire out of control containing around 10 tonnes of refuse well alight. Using a hose reel, they extinguished the fire before returning to their station by 4.31pm.

The incident was reinspected later in the evening.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
