Cambridgeshire fire stations to host charity car washes

This September, fire service staff and volunteers will be hosing down cars at Cambridge, Burwell and Chatteris fire station to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Vehicles of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Previously, cars, bikes, vans, trucks and even tractors have been known to come along.

The event will be raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, who are currently celebrating 80 years of providing support and rehabilitation to both serving and retired members of the fire and rescue staff and their families.

Previous car wash events held earlier in the year have raised more than £8,000 for the charity.

Watch Commander, Matt House who is the Car Wash Coordinator for the Service said: “Car washes held across the county are always really well supported by the community and we hope to see many local residents join us in raising funds for this worthwhile charity.”

Details of the events can be found on our Events page.
