Join Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service as a Project Manager (Document Quality Improvement Programme)

Salary: £44,117 - £47,774 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: 37 Hours per week 

Contract: Two Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Service Headquarters, Huntingdon

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead a high-impact, service-wide transformation project that will fundamentally improve how information is managed, accessed, and trusted across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a complex, multi-year digital and cultural change initiative - shaping how teams use Microsoft 365, improving document governance, and enabling a “single source of truth” for critical information.

The role 

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a structured, multi-phase project (document governance, migration, adoption, and assurance).
  • Establish robust document management standards and governance frameworks
  • Oversee large-scale migration to new ways of working and seek to rationalisation of content held.
  • Drive engagement, training, and cultural change to improve adoption and digital capability.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholders across a complex organisational landscape.

You’ll be a proactive and delivery-focused Project Manager who thrives on:

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences, but the ideal person will have:

  • Understanding of project management techniques and project governance
  • Demonstratable understanding of project management documentation, including options appraisal, risk and issue management and stakeholder and communication management.
  • Understanding of change management tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of enterprise document management systems (e.g. SharePoint architecture, permissions, metadata structures).
  • Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop others in a project management team environment and in the wider service.
  • Ability to supervise and co-ordinate projects, workstreams, working groups, task and finish groups and individuals.
  • Ability to delegate work to others, setting clear performance expectations and measuring of outputs/outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate complex information both orally and in writing in a clear, concise and articulate way to a wide range of audiences, with due regard for confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to engage, interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of partner agencies and third party suppliers, including delivery of presentations up to and including Chief Executive level.
  • Experience of implementation of MS SharePoint or other Enterprise document management system, development of training and support to ensure effective use of the toolset
  • Proven experience of scoping and planning projects.
