Support staff

You don't have to wear a firefighter's uniform and run into burning buildings to help save lives and have a rewarding career with us.

We have a whole host of career opportunities in professional business functions to support the frontline. Each role is equally important in helping us to reduce risk and save lives.

Opportunities can exist in departments such as ICT, human resources, procurement, administration, property management, heath and safety, media and communication, finance, fleet, performance and community safety.

How to apply

For each of our support staff vacancies there are three documents that we make available as standard. These are:

Recruitment pack - this contains guidance notes, a job description, a person specification and the main terms and conditions.

Equality and inclusion monitoring form - we are keen to encourage applications from all parts of the community, and to ensure this is happening we need to monitor information that some may regard as personal and sensitive.  This information will be held in confidence and used only for statistical monitoring purposes.  It will not be used in any part of the selection process.

Application form - the main form to complete to apply for the position.

From time to time there may be additional documents we ask you to download - this will depend on the specific vacancy and will be clearly stated on the job description.

You should where possible return the completed application form and monitoring form by email to recruitment@cambsfire.gov.uk. You do not need to send a paper copy as well. If you are invited to attend an interview, we may at that stage ask you to check and sign a paper copy of your application form.

If you are unable to return the application by email, please post it to:
