Top tips for keeping safe from CO:

• Fit at least one CO detector in your home if you have a gas boiler, gas appliances or a solid fuel burning appliance such as a wood burner or open fire.
• CO detectors should be replaced every 7-10 years.
• Fit an alarm in each room where there is a potential source of CO, near a gas boiler, open fire etc.
• There have been cases where CO has come from an adjoining property and seeped through brickwork and into bedrooms, so fitting an alarm in bedrooms that directly adjoin a neighbouring property is also recommended.
