Project Manager (1)
Are you passionate about delivering meaningful change? We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver major transformation projects that make a real impact. Working with senior stakeholders, project teams and partners, you'll drive projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve their intended benefits.
Salary: £44,117 - £47,774 pa (dependent on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract
Location: Service Headquarters, Huntingdon
Hybrid Working - we offer a flexible, agile, hybrid working pattern where you can work from home, as well as from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service and other locations around Cambridgeshire.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the successful delivery of complex projects using recognised project management methodologies and corporate standards.
- Managing project plans, risks, resources, budgets and performance to ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Working closely with Project Sponsors and Boards to deliver agreed outcomes, benefits and strategic objectives.
- Providing leadership, support and direction to project teams, ensuring the right skills and expertise are in place.
- Monitoring and reporting project progress, finances and governance requirements to stakeholders.
- Building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication with internal and external partners.
- Supporting the development of project management capability across the organisation through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.

About You
You’ll be a proactive and delivery-focused Project Manager who thrives on:

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences, but the ideal person will have:
- Understanding of project management techniques and project governance
- Demonstratable understanding of project management documentation, including options appraisal, risk and issue management and stakeholder and communication management.
- Understanding of Change management tools and techniques.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop others in a project management team environment and in the wider service.
- Ability to supervise and co-ordinate projects, workstreams, working groups, task and finish groups and individuals
- Ability to delegate work to others, setting clear performance expectations and measuring of outputs/outcomes
- Ability to communicate complex information both orally and in writing in a clear, concise and articulate way to a wide range of audiences, with due regard for confidentiality at all times
- Ability to engage, interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of Partner agencies and third party suppliers, including delivery of presentations up to and including Chief Executive level.
- Proven experience of scoping and planning projects.
