Upon completion of initial training probationary firefighters are allocated to a station to continue training with their watch. Development for all firefighters is continuous, and all keep a record of their training and achievements on an in-depth electronic training record. At Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service we value our people and we encourage development.

Pay

(Correct from 01 July 2022)

Trainee: £25,884 per year
Development: £26,962 per year
Competent: £34,501 per year

Uniform

All new firefighters are issued with their uniform and kit before the initial training course starts. 

Kit includes a 'working rig' uniform which is the every day dress and 'personal protective equipment' which is the full firefighting kit including helmet and boots.

Leave

Annual leave comprises of 30 days plus eight public holidays per calendar year.

Leave will be taken in accordance with whichever Duty System you are appointed to.
